Methodology and sources
Where the data comes from and how every figure is calculated.
Where the data comes from
Dividend amounts, ex-dates and payment dates are entered manually from company announcements and exchange notices. Each company page links to the company's investor relations site when we have it.
How we calculate
Annual total: the dividends declared for a financial year, as entered. Estimated yield: dividends with an ex-date in the last 12 months divided by the share price in our dataset. Growth: compound annual growth of the annual total, over the latest completed year, five years and the full history. Years of growth: consecutive completed years in which the annual total rose.
Prices
Share prices are updated manually and may be older than today's market price, so yields are estimates. Treat them as a way to compare companies, not as a live quote. We do not display share prices.
Access to the data
The three most recent years of every company are visible to everyone. The full history is for members: creating an account is free.
Corrections
If you spot an error, write to us through the contact page with the company, the year and the official source. We check it against the announcement and correct the page.
